Students

Your Union

The University of Derby has a very diverse student population. From every corner of Great Britain to many different parts of the world. And with diversity comes different trends and needs. These can sometimes change as fast as the speed of light, so to get a grip and also to stay on top of these changing patterns. The UDSU has to be prepared to have representation for the student body in various fields, you are required to fill these positions to make a difference. The positions range from being a part–time officer to a seat on union council & also the four sabbatical positions.

The sole purpose of these positions is to have a representative who is going to be there for the students when they need that support or guide in any way. The issues which may arise change year to year. For example the big campaign to fight to stop top up fees is a huge issue, which has always been a issue that needs to be addressed as much as possible, solely because it affects each and every student at University. Then to the other end of the scale the issue could be as small as selling a fair trade product in the coffee shop as to a non fair trade product.

The UDSU is your Union, which is run to endeavour to support your needs. The staff work vigorously year in year out giving a 100%, to comply with the ever growing student needs.

Please get involved, this is your chance to make a difference for yourself, but most of all for all the other student body here at the University of Derby.
