The UDSU is run by five elected student Sabbatical Officers, who are elected to listen to your interests and needs as students and meet these demands.
The UDSU’s Sabbatical positions are as follows;
- President
- VP Education and Welfare
- VP Communications and Research
- VP Student Activities
- VP Buxton
The Sabbatical Officers work closely with a supportive team of full-time staff so that your demands as students can be met.
What does the Sabbatical team do?
- We represent UDSU Students to the University. Got any problems, we’re here to sort them out!
- Develop the Strategy of the UDSU to fit the needs of the Students – What do you want to see?
- Act as Trustees of the UDSU organisation. It’s a very responsible position don’t you know!
- Ensure Equal Opportunities policy is upheld. Nobody should be discriminated against on any grounds whatsoever.
These are only some of the general daily tasks those Sabbatical Officers have to carry out in their roles. Do you think you have what it takes to improve UDSU?
Come on then if you think you’re hard enough, put your ass on the line for election. Although a great challenge, you will find being a Sabbatical a rewarding experience as well as a great laugh. You will gain so much from one year, that employers will be queuing up to take you on. The experience that a Sabbatical term in office grants you with is invaluable in today’s world where employers are looking for more than just a degree.
