Your Union » Buxton Site Committee
The site committee is your chance to make a difference in what is on offer for students in Buxton. Basically, each of the reps is responsible for the area they cover and making sure the Union meets student’s needs. For example the Communications Rep will help organise and write for the student magazine Dusted, the FE rep will be there to ensure that the Union caters for FE students at Buxton and so on. Meetings take place once a month so they shouldn’t take up too much of your time unless you want to get more involved.
The committee meetings are also an opportunity to voice concerns you may have about the university or generally life as a student in Buxton, and how you think the Students’ Union should be helping you. Each of the reps is there to represent all students at Buxton so they are extremely important and influential roles.
From the Site Committee meetings that we have on regular basis up here in Buxton, we have developed a number of aims we intend to achieve for the student body on campus in Buxton. These aims play an important role in the decisions undertaken by the Site Committee and all the time is related back to the developed aims.
So what are the aims of the Site Committee?
- Raise the profile of UDSU on campus in Buxton.
- Liaise between students and the UDSU.
- Raise the profile of Dusted and other media based sources.
- The continuation of the improvement of the student experience in Buxton.
- Improved communication across the campuses.
- Raise the profile of UDSU in the Buxton community.
